Job Search Program
The Job Search Training Program provides participants with job search skills and strategies while building confidence and self-esteem. Students are required to use the Internet, learn and use various research resources, make a minimum of 20 cold/warm call leads, and each student is required to conduct 3 information interviews. Focus is placed on a very active job search. The program takes 4 weeks to complete with 3 hours of in class work and 2 or more hours of practical homework assignments.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this program is to build confidence first and foremost as "we are what we think" in addition to equipping the student with the know how to job search in today's challenging market with tools (resume and calling cards) that have impact. The key to being a successful candidate for a position is knowing and believing in yourself.
These initial steps combined with a job search syllabus as outlined above will assist the student in acquiring suitable, competitive employment.
COURSE OUTLINE
Each student is taught the following in this order:

what trends to expect in the changing world of employment.

Identify
important skills relative to career goal.
·
Enable
others to promote a link between student and employer.
·
Produce
effective resumes which highlight and emphasize qualifications and skills.
·
Demonstrate
and make effective calls that will gain results.
·
Gather
information about career opportunities.
·
Write
effective cover and thank-you letters that will attract attention.
·
Market
interview skills effectively.
·
Plan
an effective search strategy.
·
Maintain
a job in a new or changing environment.
· Manage the impact of change
